- Feb 16, 2019 Download the Android Pie based OneUI firmware (N950FXXU5DSB2) for your Galaxy Note 8 from above and extract the downloaded ZIP on your PC. Extract any other zip files that you may find inside as well so that in the end, you have at least four firmware files. Their names should start with AP, BL, CP, CSC or HOMECSC.
Samsung already released its popular One UI firmware update last year for the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 devices via beta channel. Soon the devices started receiving official Android 9 Pie under the stable channel as well. The manufacturer has now started rolling out official Android 9 Pie to the Snapdragon S8 and Note 8 variants too in the Unites States for carriers like T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint releasing it one after the other. As for the updates, the Unlocked Galaxy S8 (SM-G950U1) and S8 Plus (SM-G955U1) variants are now receiving the latest firmware with new build numbers G950U1UEU5DSC1 and G955U1UEU5DSC1 respectively. Same goes for the Unlocked Note 8 (SM-N955U1) with build N950U1UEU5DSC1. The OTA update is now live in the USA weighing over 1.5 GB in size. Moreover, the OTA update also packs the latest March 2019 security patch level. In order to download the OTA, go to Settings > System Updates > and download OTA updates manually. If you want to manually upgrade you phone, you can do so by downloading the full stock firmware (instructions below) and flash via Odin flashtool.
